CCSO Investigating Usage of Pipe Bombs to Damage Property


The Christian County Sheriff's Office is investigating several Criminal Mischief and Wanton Endangerment incidents that occurred from late Friday night into early Saturday morning (02.26-02.27).

Initial reports indicate that homemade explosive devices were used to damage several mailboxes in the areas of Long Pond Rd. and John Rives Rd. Deputies found the mailboxes destroyed and evidence of PVC pipe and gunpowder at the scenes. A total of 5 mailboxes were damaged.

The use of these devices is a great concern to the community, for obvious reasons. The potential for injury in incidents like this is apparent. Fortunately, there were no injuries this time. We are asking for the public's help to determine who is responsible.
