CCSO Invites Public to Attend the FOP Police Memorial Service

Today is Peace Officers Memorial Day. In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15 as National Peace Officers Memorial Day and the calendar week in which May 15 falls, as National Police Week. Established by a joint resolution of Congress in 1962, National Police Week pays special recognition to those law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others. The Christian County Sheriff’s Office would like to invite everyone to attend the Fraternal Order of Police (Lodge 12) Peace Officers Memorial Service this Thursday, May 18th at 4:30 pm. The service will be held at Police Memorial Park directly behind the Hopkinsville Police Department by the statue. The service is held every year to honor those who paid the ultimate sacrifice, more specifically the 9 brave officers who died in the line of duty here in Hopkinsville and Christian County.]]>
