CCSO To Participate in "Hands Across the Border"

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office will be participating in the 2017 “Hands Across the Border” this Friday night into early Saturday morning. (May 19th-May 20th) The Sheriff’s Office will join forces with the Hopkinsville Police Department, Kentucky State Police, Oak Grove Police Department, Clarksville Police Department, Montgomery County Sheriff’s Department, and Tennessee Highway Patrol to conduct traffic safety points on Hwy 41-A and the KY/ TN state line. Highway safety does not stop at the city limits, county or state line and crosses all jurisdictions. State and local law enforcement officers will be holding road checks at the state line in Oak Grove while their counterparts will be holding road checks on their side of the border. Authorities will be looking for impaired drivers, drivers who do not have seat belts buckled, suspended or no driver’s licenses, improper child safety seats and other violations. The checkpoints will begin at 11:00 pm on Friday night and continue until 1:00 am on Saturday morning. Remember, don’t drink and drive. Find a sober driver. If not, we will find you, and we will arrest you.   Chris Miller-Captain/ PIO Christian County Sheriff’s Office cmiller@christiancountyso.com]]>
