Chief Deputy Jason Newby

For the month of November, we will be highlighting CCSO’s second in command, Major Jason Newby. Major Newby is a 23 year law enforcement veteran, who began his career with the Christian County Jail in 1998. From there went to the Kentucky State Police where he served as a Trooper for 16 years. Prior to his law enforcement service, Jason served in the United States Marine Corps for 6 years. He has been working for CCSO since December of 2018 and is responsible for the care and operation of all departments within the Christian County Sheriff’s Office. Major Newby brings years of knowledge and dedication to our department and we are glad he is here. If you see Major Newby out and about, please tell him hello!

The Christian County Sheriff’s Office was formed on March 1st 1797 with the inception of the County Government. Initially the elected Sheriff was called the “High Sheriff”, the term used in England at that time. The Sheriff’s Office has evolved continuously over the years as the needs of Christian County have changed.
Currently, we are full service, 24/7 department that responds and investigates anything from accidents and simple assaults to homicides.

Our jurisdiction covers an area of 724 square miles, which includes many small communities where we provide service. In 2019, the Christian County Sheriff’s Office responded to 33,601 calls for service. Our department is responsible for handling the payment of all property taxes for Christian County, as well as the execution of criminal and civil service.christian county sheriff's office

Tanna Dunlap is a white female, 5'5" tall, weighing approximately 130 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Dunlap is wanted for: Trafficking Meth, Tampering w/ Physical Evidence, and Tampering w/ a Prisoner Monitoring Device. Dunlap's last known addres was the 200 block of Barnett Rd. in Madisonville, KY.
Steven Johnson


Steven Johnson is a white male, 51 years of age, 5'10" tall, weighing approximately 300 lbs, with brown eyes and brown hair.


Johnson is wanted on Christian County Warrants for: Probation Violation and Parole Violation for underlying drug charges. His last known address was the 100 block of North Madisonville Street in Crofton, KY.
Kerry Brasher

Kerry Brasher is a white male, 42 years of age, 6' tall, weighing approximately 170 lbs, with brown hair and brown eyes.

Brasher is wanted on three Christian County warrants for Probation Violation and 2 counts of Contempt of Court (child support arrearage over $29,000). Brasher's last know address was the 100 block of West Main Street in Crofton, KY. Brasher has also been known to reside on Greenwood Drive and North Elm Street in Hopkinsville, KY.
Warren Persful

Persful is a 41-year-old white male, 5'6" tall, weighing approximately 160 lbs with brown or balding hair and brown eyes.

Persful is wanted on the strength of two Christian County warrants for: Trafficking in Illegal Narcotics, Fleeing and Evading Police 1st degree and being a Persistent Felony Offender. Persful's last known address was the 100 block of Sherinton Place in Hopkinsville, KY.
