CCSO Pursues Fleeing Suspect, Recovers Stolen Firearm

christian county sheriff's office kentuckyDeputies with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office responded to a domestic disturbance Thursday afternoon (09/08) which led to a short pursuit and the arrest of a Hopkinsville woman.

According to a CCSO arrest citation, deputies were called to the 2000 block of Greenville Rd. in response to a female pointing a gun at someone and fleeing the scene in a black Chrysler. Deputy Clevin Robinson spotted a vehicle matching the description in the area of Skyline Dr. and East 9th Street in Hopkinsville. Robinson activated his emergency lights to stop the vehicle, which refused to stop and fled. After a brief pursuit, the vehicle was stopped and a female, 24-year-old Kayla Knight, was taken into custody. During a search of the vehicle a firearm was found under the passenger seat. A check of the weapon revealed that it was stolen out of Clarksville, TN. 

Knight was arrested an charged with Fleeing and Evading 2nd Degree and Receiving Stolen Property.
