Man Wanted on Warrants Receives More Charges After Being Arrested

Christian County Sheriff's OfficeOn Monday May 1st, 2023, detectives with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office Anti-Crime Unit and Fort Campbell CID were in the area of Fairview, Kentucky following up on a tip received that a man with warrants had been residing in the area.

44-year-old Larry Gibbs of Todd County, KY had 4 outstanding warrants for Contempt of Court Child Support x2, Probation Violation for Felony Offense, and Trafficking Methamphetamine. A vehicle known to be operated by Gibbs was observed on Britmart Rd., and a traffic stop was conducted. The vehicle pulled into an address on West Jeff Davis Hwy. Gibbs’ girlfriend was operating the vehicle alone and gave detectives permission to look for Gibbs inside her residence on West Jeff Davis Hwy. Gibbs was located attempting to hide inside a shower but was apprehended without incident.

Inside the home in plain view were items consistent with drug usage. Detectives received consent to search the residence and located the following items in the home: 9oz of suspected methamphetamine, an undisclosed amount of US currency, a loaded .45 caliber pistol, a .22caliber rifle, and a scale with baggies. Also located in the home was 21 oz of what was initially believed to be methamphetamine, but Gibbs stated it was “fake meth” that he made up and used to cut the real methamphetamine that he sold. Inside the residence, detectives retrieved a white tub of MSM in powder form which Gibbs stated was an ingredient for this imitation meth. This type of MSM is used in horses for inflammation and pain relief in joints. Gibbs was lodged at Christian County Jail for his outstanding warrants and will be indicted on other charges at a later date.
