Interagency Cooperation Leads to Narcotics Arrest

Thursday, October 10th, 2024-Oak Grove, KY: The Christian County Sheriff’s Office and Oak Grove Police Department joined forces to remove illegal narcotics from our community.

On October 10, 2024, at approximately 12:34 a.m., CCSO Deputy Lassner and Oak Grove Police Officer Bruce contacted 31-year-old Justin Defreitas in the parking lot of the Quality Inn, located at 201 Auburn Street in Oak Grove, KY.

Defreitas was initially stopped for driving with a suspended license due to prior DUI and traffic-related offenses. During the stop, Defreitas admitted to possessing testosterone, a Schedule III narcotic, and was subsequently detained. A search of his vehicle revealed a methamphetamine pipe, two loaded firearms, restricted ammunition and additional narcotics, including methamphetamine and uncontrolled prescription pills.

This arrest highlights the importance of collaboration between law enforcement agencies in combating the spread of narcotics in our community.

Defreitas is currently facing the following charges:
