Christian County, KY-June 2nd, 2025 – A Monday night traffic stop on Hugh Hunter Road resulted in the arrest of a man facing multiple charges after he attempted to flee and was found in possession of suspected narcotics.

A CCSO deputy observed the suspect, 48-year-old Michael Mimms of Guthrie, make an improper turn and initiated a traffic stop. The vehicle came to a stop in the roadway, and the driver showed signs of impairment. After failing field sobriety tests, the suspect resisted arrest and fled on foot, discarding a container into nearby grass. He was quickly apprehended after a Taser deployment.
The container was found to contain two baggies of suspected crack cocaine and powdered cocaine totaling approximately 4 grams. A large amount of cash was also recovered.
The man was medically cleared and consented to a blood test. He faces the following charges:
- Improper Turning
- Failure to Yield to Emergency Vehicle
- Operating a Motor Vehicle Under the Influence (1st Offense)
- Fleeing or Evading Police (2nd Degree, on foot)
- Tampering with Physical Evidence
- Trafficking in Controlled Substance, 1st Degree (2nd or > offense, <4g Cocaine)
- Trafficking in Controlled Substance, 1st Degree (1st offense, Schedule I & II)
- Resisting Arrest
Mimms was transported to the Christian County Jail.
