On July 29th, 2026, at 7:53 pm deputies were called to investigate an assault on Forest Park Boulevard involving a woman who had been assaulted and choked.
The investigation led to the arrest of 31-year-old Clayton Cunningham of Hopkinsville on charges of fourth-degree assault domestic violence, second-degree strangulation domestic violence, and interfering with communications.
An argument over posting things for sale online led to the assault.
He was also found to have active warrants out of Whitley County and the state of Ohio.
