On August 12th, 2026, at 9:32 pm, deputies responded to a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 169 at the 24-mile marker.
A car driven by 32-year-old John Gardner of Louisville was traveling southbound when he lost control, causing the vehicle to cross the median into the northbound lanes before returning to the median and coming to a stop.
Gardner was found walking down the road and was taken by Hopkinsville EMS to the hospital for injuries.
After being released from the hospital, Gardner was charged with operating on a suspended or revoked license, and he was found to have a warrant for failure to appear.
