Christian County, KY – On April 18, 2025, at approximately 6:10 PM, a Christian County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near the 1862 Bypass and Pennyrile Parkway on-ramp due to a severely cracked windshield, a violation of Kentucky traffic law.

During the stop, the deputy identified the driver as 42-year-old Richard Hardin of Marion, KY. Indicators of suspicious behavior, along with Hardin’s criminal history, led the deputy to initiate a drug investigation. Hardin admitted to possessing marijuana-based gummies and later revealed the presence of additional controlled substances in the vehicle.
A subsequent probable cause search of the vehicle uncovered methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, marijuana THC edibles, and prescription pills identified as controlled substances.
Hardin was arrested and lodged in the Christian County Jail on the following charges:
- Obstructed Vision and/or Windshield
- Possession of a Controlled Substance, 1st Degree (Methamphetamine)
- Possession of a Controlled Substance, 2nd Degree (Drug Unspecified)
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
- Possession of a Controlled Substance, 3rd Degree (Drug Unspecified)
