Christian County, KY – On Thursday, May 9, 2024, at approximately 4:07 PM, a Christian County Sheriff’s Deputy conducted a traffic stop on Cadiz Road near Bypass Road after observing a vehicle traveling 83 MPH in a 55 MPH zone.
The driver, identified as 36-year-old David E. Couch of Cadiz, was operating a vehicle and was found to have a suspended driver’s license for DUI—marking his third offense for driving on a DUI-suspended license.
During the investigation, deputies located suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and evidence indicating an attempt to conceal narcotics. Couch admitted to hiding a baggie of suspected methamphetamine in his mouth, which he surrendered to deputies at the scene.
Couch was arrested and charged with the following:
- Speeding 26 MPH or greater over the limit
- Driving on DUI Suspended License (3rd Offense)
- Possession of Controlled Substance, 1st Degree, 2nd Offense (Methamphetamine)
- Possession of Controlled Substance, 1st Degree (Fentanyl)
- Tampering with Physical Evidence
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
Couch was transported to the Christian County Jail.
