On August 17th, 2025, at approximately 0700 hours, deputies with the Christian County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on Flowers Road. The vehicle was located, crashed and abandoned in a ditch in front of the victim’s residence.
As deputies canvassed the area, witnesses reported seeing two individuals walking in the early morning hours. Security footage from a nearby residence later confirmed the presence of two juveniles in the area around the time of the incident.
During the investigation, a nearby homeowner reported an unfamiliar Ford Taurus parked in a field. Deputies responded to the location and discovered the vehicle appeared to be abandoned. A records check confirmed that the Taurus had been reported stolen out of LaRue County earlier that day.
While deputies were gathering further information, the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office contacted ECC to report they had located two juveniles in possession of a stolen vehicle. CCSO deputies were able to confirm with the registered owner that the vehicle was indeed stolen. Additionally, the juveniles were found to be in possession of two handguns that were also reported stolen.
Marshall County Deputies and Benton Police Department verified that the two juveniles matched the individuals seen in the Christian County security footage.
Thanks to the coordinated efforts of the Christian County, Marshall County, and LaRue County Sheriff’s Offices and Benton Police Department—along with assistance from alert residents and timely access to surveillance footage—multiple crimes were linked, key evidence was recovered, and suspects were quickly identified.
The juveniles were charged with:
- Theft by Unlawful Taking – Firearm
- Theft of a Motor Vehicle (x2 for Christian County)
- Criminal Mischief 1st Degree
Additional charges are pending from both the Marshall County and LaRue County Sheriff’s Offices.
