On October 7th, 2026, at 2:26 pm an investigation into a video showing child sexual abuse led to the arrest of a Crofton man.
A cyber tip from the Kentucky ICAC Task Force about a file on a storage provider started an investigation leading to the arrest of 44-year-old Arturo Cruz-Vargas on the charge of possessing matter portraying a sexual performance by a minor under 12 years old.
He claimed he downloaded the video while searching websites for his friend’s son, who was kidnapped in Mexico approximately 3 to 4 years ago.
